After Four Years on the Run, Clarendon Man Held for Kingston Murder
PORT ANTONIO, Portland; August 18, 2026
Police in Portland have arrested a man wanted for four years on a murder charge. The man from Clarendon, a suspect in a murder in Kingston, was operating a taxi service in Portland when he was held, police say.
Police say that for four years, 43-year-old Leighton Delahaye of James Hill, Clarendon, disguised himself as a taxi operator and evaded law enforcement in Portland.

The CCN did not provide details on which route he plied or whether he was operating a legitimate service or a robot taxi.
But according to police, on Sunday, August 16, their relentless work bore fruit when Delahaye was captured by detectives in Boundbrook, Port Antonio, in the parish.
The police said, “Swift action was taken by a team of officers acting on information that led them to conduct a targeted operation in the community.” Delahaye, who was wanted by the St Andrew Central Police for the murder of 29-year-old British national Safia Davy on Hagley Park Road, St Andrew in 2022, was apprehended during the operation.
He is to be handed over to detectives in the St Andrew Central Division, where, after the completion of investigative procedures, he will be charged and a court date set for him.
Investigations are ongoing.
