Driver Faces Possible Charge of Causing Death by Dangerous Driving

A Canadian citizen is dead after the car in which she was a passenger overturned along the Queen’s Highway, St Ann, Saturday, September 5, 2026.
Dead is Tiffany Nyack, of 1508-33 Gabian Way, Toronto, Canada,
Police say the driver of the car in which Ms Nyack was a passenger may be charged with causing death by dangerous driving.
He is in hospital with multiple injuries from the crash.
Police report that at about 2:00 p.m. Saturday, a 2012 Toyota Probox motorcar was being driven in an easterly direction, toward Ocho Rios, along the Queen’s Highway, near Discovery Bay. Nyack was the only passenger on board.
The North Coast Times could not confirm reports that she had just come into Jamaica.
According to police, “The driver… lost control of the vehicle, which is believed to have been travelling at an excessive speed.” The motor car subsequently veered onto the roadway’s left soft shoulder and overturned.
Tiffany Nyack sustained multiple injuries to her head, neck and other parts of her body. She was assisted to the St. Ann’s Bay Hospital by a passerby, where she was pronounced dead on arrival.
The motor vehicle had damage to the front bumper, bonnet, front panel, grille, left front door, windscreen, left rear door, left-side pivot glass, left-side panel, roof and right headlight.
The 37-year-old driver sustained injuries and remains hospitalized. Police say he will be questioned in the presence of his attorney and charges are expected to be laid against him for causing death by dangerous driving.
Investigations are ongoing.
