RUNAWAY BAY, St Ann; Sept. 2, 2026 (Updated 11 a.m., with ID and police report)
St Ann police have confirmed the death of one man whose body was discovered along the Llandovery Main Road Wednesday morning, September 2, 2026.
He has been identified as 41-year-old Rayner Wilmot of Prospect, Clarendon.
The North Coast Times had earlier reported that two bodies were found in the area, near the intersection of the Llandovery Main Road (North Coast Highway) and Mines Road.
Police said the allegations are that about 5 a.m., area residents came upon the body along the roadway and summoned the police.
On the arrival of the police, the body of the now deceased was seen lying on its back with what appeared to be a gunshot wound to the left side of the head.
Sources told the North Coast Times that bundles of clothes were seen near the scene, suggesting a robbery.
The police are investigating.
They provided no other information.
