2 FOREIGNERS AMONG 10 ARRESTED IN MASSIVE ST MARY OPERATION

Security Officers from 5 Formations Sweep Annotto Bay, Oracabessa and Gayle

PORT MARIA, St Mary, Aug. 19, 2026

Two nationals of the Dominican Republic were arrested along with eight other people in a massive security forces operation across several towns in St Mary on Tuesday, August 18, 2026.

Police say that acting on intelligence, they arrested Fernando Manuel Rodriguez Bolanos, 33, and Daniel Herrera Alvarado, 31, both nationals of the Dominican Republic, along with Sean Anthony Gayle, 51, on reasonable suspicion of illegal entry.

Other reports say one of the men from the Dominican Republic was wanted in relation to an incident involving murder. St Mary police say further investigations are being carried out in relation to the two foreign nationals.

The operation, conducted between 3:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, involved simultaneous targeted raids and coordinated Vehicle Checkpoints across Oracabessa, Gayle and Annotto Bay.

Personnel from the Area 2 Fugitive Apprehension Team, Canine Division, Public Safety and Traffic Enforcement Branch (PSTEB), Highway Patrol and the Jamaica Defence Force (JDF) participated in the operation alongside members of the St. Mary Division.

Additionally, four men were arrested on outstanding warrants, while another three persons were arrested and charged for offences including possession of ganja, dealing in ganja, possession of uncustomed goods, praedial larceny and assault occasioning bodily harm.

The operation forms part of the St. Mary Police Division’s continued intelligence-driven strategy to apprehend wanted persons and other criminal suspects, disrupt criminal activities and strengthen the police presence across communities in the parish.
