Two from Ochi held in US and Bahamas
Two St Ann brothers who police say are major players in violence in the Pineapple area of Ocho Rios, St Ann are in the custody of police after being arrested overseas.
They are Keano Fyffes and Shaquille Fyffes, both in their 20s, of Pineapple district in Ocho Rios.
Keano has been returned by police to Jamaica from Florida, USA, and has been charged with murder and other crimes and Shaquille is in the custody of the Bahamas police charged with robbery with aggravation. The St Ann police say when Shaquille Fyffe is returned, after facing the charges in the Bahamas, he will be slapped with gun charges here.
Officer in charge of Crime in St Ann, DSP Linton Thunder Bailey gave details about the brothers at the monthly meeting of the St Ann Municipal Corporation Thursday, March 9.
He said the Pineapple Area, Ocho Rios had become a hot spot for violence and criminality. However, he said since the brothers had fled the area, there had been some reduction in tension. He said Keano
was held February 20 in Florida and Shaquille was held March 1 in the Bahamas.
