MAN SLAIN ON BEACH AFTER ATTACKING FISHERMAN

DISCOVERY BAY, St Ann; August 17, 2026

A man was stabbed to death after reportedly attacking a fisherman at his fishing quarters on Discovery Bay Beach, St Ann, Sunday evening, August 16.

Dead is 35-year-old Oshane Williams, unemployed, of Adna Grass, Discovery Bay, St. Ann

Reports to the North Coast Times are that Williams had a long-standing dispute with a fisherman who operates from the beach in Discovery Bay.

According to police, about 6:30 p.m. Sunday, the fisherman was in his quarters on the beach when Williams entered and made accusations that the fisherman was calling his name and telling lies on him.

It is further reported that Williams began attacking the fisherman with a knife, stabbing him.

The fisherman responded by pulling a knife from his fishing stall and stabbed at Williams, before running away. Williams was stabbed in the chest and below the neck.

The fisherman ran, hid nearby, and called a relative who took him to the Discovery Bay police station.

The fisherman was assisted to the St. Ann’s Hospital, where he was treated for stab wounds to the abdomen, thighs and leg. He was later released.

Williams was also taken to hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
