An important development is being reported in the case involving three men, including a cop charged for the murder of 25-year-old musician of St Mary, Anthony Hudson. Charged with murder and appearing in court last week were: Constable Fabian Henry who is assigned to the St Catherine North police; 23-year-old Neville Anderson and his 53-year-old father Franklyn Anderson. Oswest Senior Smith, the attorney representing constable Fabian Henry, has told the North Coast Times that a new development has occurred in the murder case involving his client, and that he will now renew his bail application on behalf of the accused policeman. Hudson, of Zion Hill, Richmond in St Mary, disappeared late January. Police arrested the three, including the cop in March and charged them for murder even though up to then a body had not been found. Following their court appearance on Thursday, June 5, 2014, they were remanded.
Mr. Smith told The Times that one of the co-accused has given a statement to the police in which it was stated that Henry was not present when Hudson was murdered. Mr Senior Smith said with this information at hand, he will now renew his bail application on behalf of the cop, Henry. The investigating officer and attorney representing the father and son approached the magistrate about issues in the case before the matter was adjourned.
When the police were contacted about the statement tendered by one of the co-accused they stated that the matter was still under investigation and that they would not confirm or deny the statement. The police however said that they are looking for another suspect in the same murder but would not disclose his or her name. Hudson went missing on January 25 this year. The Times reported that it was believed that Hudson was killed over an illegal gun that was loaned to him by the men that he had not been able to account for. Hudson was said to be killed in the Esher area in the parish and it was alleged that the three men, including the cop were involved. Hudson’s mother and a search party of friends found the body in a gully about 100 yards behind the house of the Andersons who are among the three charged. The Andersons’ are represented by Dane Marsh. They are booked to return to court on Monday, June 30.
