Speaking from the Emergency Operating Centre (EOC) Mr Belnavis confirmed that the fire department had responded to reports of a tree that blocked the main road to Sturge Town and had cleared the blockage.
The Command Centre is also responsible for the 84 shelters across the parish. Up to early afternoon Sunday, October 27, five shelters were open with people taking refuge.

A check by the North Coast Times showed that most roadways were open in St Ann, with threats being posed to access by overhanging trees, especially on the Roadway between Iron Gate and Dumbarton on the Runaway Bay to Brown’s Town Road.

In St Ann, on the Coast, most of the morning has been marked by outbreaks of intense rainfall and strong gusts.
