BOOTHE IS BUILDING AGAIN — BOOT 2

PM BREAKS GROUND FOR NEW BOOT COMPLEX IN DRAX HALL

DRAX HALL, St Ann; October 11, 2025

Another commercial complex is coming to the booming Drax Hall/Mammee Bay area of St Ann.

Wayne Boothe, his family, and financial partners are expecting to build, in the next 18 months, a three-storey complex with retail shops, full full-service supermarket, cinemas, restaurants, and professional offices. The project cost is over one billion dollars.

It’s to be located across the road from the present complex, now dubbed Boot 1, which also has a gas station, eateries, supermarket, pharmacy, and BPO office. Boot 2 is to be linked to Boot 1 by a pedestrian bridge.

Prime Minister Andrew Holness broke ground for the facility on Friday, October 10, hailing Wayne Boothe as a visionary and part of a new team of homegrown businesspeople who were creating wealth. He encouraged the new group of business people to be aggressive, and not wait on development to happen to them.

Matthew Samuda, MP and Minister for Water and the Environment, said, “What you see in front of you is a living, breathing spirit of entrepreneurship.”

CEO of the company, Alexcia Boothe said the new development will transform the parish. She said the complex will have “everything in One Boot.” Ms Boothe said they expected to break ground in 2026 for a new complex in Ironshore, St James, and this was part of intentional growth.

The function was attended by several business people from across the parish and was also addressed by the Mayor of St Ann’s Bay, Michael Belnavis. Among the guests were Custos Joseph Issa; Custos Emeritus RO Walters; Mark Myers Managing Director of Restaurants of Jamaica; St Ann Chamber President Ransford Davidson, as well as operators of Juci Patties at Boot 1, Shermaine Desnoes and Glen O’Connor, and Jeannie Dixon.
