TITCHFIEILD, PORT ANTONIO, ST MARY HIGH IN GROUP OF 32
PORT ANTONIO, Portland; Oct. 9, 2025
The two Port Antonio High School teams and St Mary High from Group ‘M’ have gone on to the Round of 32 in the rural area daCosta Cup.
Port Antonio High won the Zone with 25 points, followed by Titchfield with 23 and St Mary High of Highgate with 22 points.
Port Antonio had a new coach this year, Kelvin Harris, and he said ‘It’s a good feeling,” getting to the round although for the boys it’s what they and the school expect, having qualified so many times. “They’re not overexcited. It’s the norm getting through the round and progressing.”

Coach Harris says the strength of the team is more midfield to forward, as shown by their nearly 40 goals in the first round.
At the time of the interview with the North Coast Times, other teams also set to be in that group with Port Antonio were Clarendon College and York Castle, the latter being one of the best 3rd place finishers from their group. One other qualifier is to be decided
“York Castle and CC (Clarendon College), those teams have shown they have the ability to really do damage,” said Mr Harris. However, he was confident that “We put in enough preparation to be able to match or beat the best team.”

He said Captain Nicholas Williams and striker Keandre Wilson were two key players being depended on. However, he said he was not going to reveal all his strengths. “We have other talents that manage to pull through in games; they will come up big.“
ST MARY HIGH
For Coach at St Mary High, Kenroy Reid, the first round was a tough one as the team started below strength. He said he felt the burden of making it to the Round of 32 with a St Mary team and that meant he had to beat one of the Port Antonio teams. St Mary High pulled off a 2-0 victory over Port Antonio High, helping their advance.
That victory has also served to give the team members more confidence to take on other big top top-performing teams. They scored 26 goals in the first round, with Devonte Allen pumping in ten of those.
St Mary High is placed in a tough group (5) with former winners Glenmuir, record goal scorers Manchester High, and Alphansus Davis. Mr Reid is philosophical about his team’s chances. He says they are going to do their best. “It’s football, on the day, anything can happen.”
Their first match is away to Manchester High.
