ANOTHER LIFE LOST ON LLANDOVERY ROAD ST ANN
RUNAWAY BAY, St Ann; Aug. 26, 2025
A bus driver was killed in a horrible crash with a truck on a deadly section of the North Coast Highway in St Ann on Monday, August 25, 2025.
Dead is 27-year-old Estashie Grant, a bus driver of St. Ann.

(Front section of the Coaster bus)
Grant was killed when the white 2014 Toyota Coaster he was driving collided with a grey 2008 Peterbilt 386 motor truck, registered CQ 3089.
It was the second fatal crash in just over 24 hours, in St Ann, following a multi-vehicle crash at Mammee Bay that left one man dead and several people injured.

Police said the crash on Monday took place about 5:20 p.m. along the Llandovery Main Road, just east of the traffic lights at Salem Fisherman’s Beach.
This section of the North Coast Highway is said to have had the most fatal crashes in recent years, rivalled only by the Queens Highway Discovery Bay stretch.

The Coaster bus was travelling westward, toward Montego Bay, and the truck was travelling in the opposite direction.
Upon reaching a section of the road, approximately 250 meters east of the Salem Traffic Lights, police report that the driver of the Toyota Coaster failed to keep to the left side of the road and collided with the right side of the Peterbilt motor truck that was travelling in an easterly direction.

The side of the bus was ripped apart as it ran up against the truck. Grant, the driver of the Toyota Coaster bus, sustained serious injuries and was transported to the St. Ann’s Bay Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.

(Very little damage)
The Toyota Coaster was extensively damaged and the Peterbilt motor truck sustained minor damage to the right side.
No one else reported injuries. The Runaway Bay Traffic Dept. is conducting investigations.
