2 WOMEN, ONE MAN KILLED IN ST ANN CRASH

VEHICLES WERE GOING IN OPPOSITE DIRECTIONS

Police are giving more details of the crash near Discovery Bay, St Ann, that killed three people on Wednesday morning, July 23, 2025.

Two women and one man were killed in the crash on the Queens Highway, a section of the North Coast Highway between the Trelawny/St Ann Border and the UWI Marine Lab.

The North Coast Times was told that one of those killed is a taxi driver from Old Folly in Discovery Bay. However, police have not yet given details of the identities of those killed.

Police say the fatal collision occurred about 11.20 a.m. along the Queen’s Highway, about 200 metres west of the UWI Marine Lab.

A white 2014 Honda Step wagon motorcar and a white 2020 Mitsubishi Outlander were involved.

According to reports to the police, about 11:20 a.m., the Honda Step Wagon was travelling east along Queen’s Highway, or heading toward Discovery Bay direction, when, on reaching a section of the road about 200 metres west of the Marine Lab the driver of the Mitsubishi Outlander motor car that was travelling west towards Falmouth direction lost control of the vehicle. The vehicle went over to the right side of the road. It collided head-on into the Honda Step wagon motor car, heading in the opposite direction, resulting in extensive damage to both vehicles and serious injuries to both drivers and passengers.

The injured persons, including two children, were taken to the St. Ann’s Bay Hospital, where the male driver of the Honda Step wagon and an unknown female were pronounced dead on arrival by the Doctor on duty.

The accident scene was visited by police personnel and a team from the St Ann Fire Department.

The St Ann Traffic Department is investigating.
