Updated July 11, 2025
RICHMOND, St Mary
The curfew in sections of Richmond, St Mary has been extended to Saturday, July 12, 2025.
In their release on the curfew, police said the latest curfew  began at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 8 and will remain in effect until 6:00 p.m. on
Saturday, July 12. This means that a curfew with restrictions on movement and heightened police presence has been in effect in communities of Richmond since Friday, July 4.
Richmond and surrounding communities, including Flint, Essex district and areas close to the St Catherine/St Mary border have been tense, following a double murder at a candlelight ceremony.
That ceremony was in honour of 21-year-old assistant teacher Jonnay Damoya Dalia Graham, also called Moya, murdered at her home in Essex on Wednesday, June 26. Reports are that she was shot by her lover, a policeman who reportedly shot himself in the head in an apparent suicide attempt. He was hospitalised.

People close to the families and communities that have suffered loss have been angered by the lack of information about the state of the policeman and the status of any action to be taken against him.
Two people attending the candlelight ceremony (wake) for Graham, on Thursday night, July 3, were killed when a gunman on a motorcycle opened fire.GRIEF, CONFUSION FOLLOWING DOUBLE MURDER AT WAKE
