MOTORISTS TURN UP AT CLOSED PLANTATION SITE
The recently opened Chinese-operated Sparks Garage at Plantation, near Priory, St Ann remained shuttered Monday, April 28, apparently on orders of the Ministry of Labour and Social Security.

North Coast Times was told that at the weekend, following the closure of the Chinese-operated garage and auto service centre at Ferry, the shop at St Ann remained closed. The Ministry of Labour last Thursday advised that it was investigating compliance of the Ferry operations with Jamaican law.

When the North Coast Times visited the St Ann facility Monday morning, several customers were outside the gates across from Plantation Cove entertainment centre, trying to get information about the status of the business. However, no one was available or on the compound. Five vehicles were there and there was no activity inside the fenced premises, approaching Richmond Estate.
A sign on the gate spoke to recent activity when several motorists crowded the facility, and some had to be turned away, and others given appointments. The handwritten sign on the gate read:
(Sign detailing services and a handwritten notice saying no more service “for now”)
“To all drivers”
“We not take in anymore vehicle to do any service for now. Only by who on the appointment list.
Thanks for Understanding”
