MOVE THE BLOWN DOWN SIGNS

5 WEEKS AFTER BERYL WHY ARE THEY STILL THERE?

With Hurricane Beryl gone five weeks now, people have been asking why the roadways in St Ann are still littered with so many blown-down signs and uprooted trees.

The signs are seen especially in the Drax Hall area, highlighting a host of businesses and services. Some of them, especially those blown down near the Knutsford Business complex, are right next to the North Coast Highway and represent a danger to motorists as well as pedestrians.

Despite promises about a roadside debris cleanup that should have started Monday, July 22, the roadway is still littered with signs and trees dislodged by Hurricane Beryl.

The North Coast Times must ask: Who is responsible? NSWMA (NEPM in St Ann)? NWA? St Ann Municipal Corporation?
