WISE CONSULTANCY CELEBRATES 20 YEARS

Neville Warmington Snr Praised for Taking Risks in Starting Security-Supported Business in St Ann

ST ANN’S BAY, St Ann; July 3, 2026

Friends, clients, employees, and family members gathered on Thursday afternoon, June 25, 2026, in St. Ann’s Bay, St. Ann, to celebrate the 20th anniversary of WISE Consultancy Co. Ltd.

Warmsville Investigation Security and Enquiry (WISE) is a security support services company, including debt collection. It was established in April 3, 2006, in St. Ann’s Bay, 20 years ago, by founder and now Managing Director, Retired Superintendent Neville Warmington Snr, and his wife, Dorothy Warmington.

They both served the Jamaica Constabulary Force, Mrs Warmington retiring after 36 years and Mr Warmington after 40 years.

Mr Warmington, in stating how the company took its first steps, said that while working as a police officer, he saw there were some areas of associated security work that could be better served by a business rather than the JCF. This included debt collection, securing expungement of criminal records, serving summonses, and private investigation.

He opened the business with four employees in less-than-ideal rented premises on Main Street, St. Ann’s Bay. However, he said that with the support of a diligent staff, his family, and associated business enterprises, WISE has grown to employ 17 people. Its clients include the Student Loan Bureau, the National Housing Trust, First Regional Co-operative Credit Union, and other businesses based in St. Ann.

Mr. Warmington said he was able to purchase the premises at 5 Church Street, St. Ann’s Bay, St. Ann, in 2018 and, after extensive renovations, relocated the business to its current location. The building now houses several other entities, including the Jamaica Business Development Corporation, the Jamaica Police Co-Operative Credit Union, and a law office, Food Hygiene Bureau, along with associated companies such as Bee Wise Café, a BPO department offering services such as passport and visa applications and assistance with birth and death certificates, as well as the Warmsville Institute of Training, where Team Jamaica is facilitated.

The anniversary reception was held in the courtyard.

Mr Warmington said he took great joy from the fact that one of his sons, Neville Warmington (Jnr) was in the business as Chief Executive Officer and was doing a great job.

“I have every confidence that under his (Neville Warmington Jnr) leadership WISE will continue to grow.”, the senior Warmington said. He said as the company celebrates, “I truly believe the best is yet to come.”

Emcee for the programme, Sheika Saunders Warmington, said the ideas came to Mr Warmington Snr over many nights, and he would often wake his wife to share his vision and plans.

The guest speaker was businessman Leopold ‘Steely’ Williams. Mr Williams, who operates several businesses including Sea Crest Hotel, warmly congratulated Mr Warmington for establishing WISE and his family for their support. Mr Williams said it was even more commendable that Mr Warmington was willing to take the risks and start the business after retirement, when people normally start businesses early in their lives.

He called on Jamaicans to go into business. According to Mr Williams, other nationalities were establishing businesses in Jamaica at such a rate that one could scarcely find a Jamaican business in St Ann’s Bay.

“More of us must get into business. Start a business,” he urged.

He encouraged the setting up of businesses, arguing it was easy to do. However, he warned those thinking of going into business to get business advice or they could be throwing away their money.

Several former employees of WISE Consultancy Co. Ltd. paid tribute to the Warmington family, acknowledging the company’s invaluable contribution to their professional development. Among them were Xavier Buchanan, now a Regional Manager at Post to Post, and Myoka Buchanan, now an Attorney-at-Law, both of whom credited WISE. with helping to lay the foundation for their successful careers.

Several awards were presented during the celebration. Mr. and Mrs. Warmington were recognized for their leadership and contribution to the company’s success over the past 20 years.

Dwight Warmington received the Longest-Serving Employee Award for his 20 years of service. Leonie McFarlane of Bee Wise Café, Tanice Steer (Team Lead/Senior Debt Collector), and Diandra Wilson Bailey received Excellence Awards for their outstanding contributions.

Among guests were CEO of the St Ann Municipal Corporation Jennifer Brown Cunningham; Managing Director of the Food Hygiene Bureau Dr Marva Hewitt; Andrea Mumby, Senior Regional Manager at C&WJ Co-operative Credit Union Limited; Owin Watson and Simone  Steadman of Student Loan Bureau; Roshell Sterling-Johnson of National Housing Trust; and Clevet Bernard.

Makeba Rodney delivered two songs.

In giving the vote of thanks, Dorothy Warmington said the company was started with “bold vision, determination and faith” and she was pleased to see its success. She commended and thanked those who supported the business over the years.
