Former Titchfield High Head Girl Sees Win as a Platform for Service

PORT ANTONIO, Portland; June 29, 2026

Christina Williams, a 28-year-old lawyer, was on Sunday evening, June 28, crowned Miss Portland Festival Queen 2026 at the Tim Bamboo Hotel in Port Antonio. She copped three sectional awards, Most Culturally Aware, Most Active in the Community, and Most Poised, on her way to winning the crown ahead of the other three contestants.

Tish-Khani Thompson, first runner-up, received the Most Congenial, Best Performance and Most Popular on Social Media awards. Kaylia Thompson was the second runner-up.

The newly crowned queen is a development advisor and head of Information Privacy and Protection at the Jamaica National Heritage Trust. The former Titchfield High head girl said: “I am over the moon, I’m excited, I’m elated, but most importantly, I’m grateful.”

She said she decided to enter the competition as a way of continuing her service to the community and country.

Ms Williams works in Kingston and said that for training for the contest, she had to travel many times to Portland, but she had no regrets. “I formed a deep kinship with my fellow sister contestants, and now I actually want to work with them to launch our group project here, because beyond my title, I want to be of service”.

Christina Williams will represent Portland at the Miss Jamaica Festival Queen Coronation on August 1 at the National Stadium Complex.
