Second Official Statement Following Reports Third Country Nationals are in Parish
KINGSTON, June 29, 2026
The police have joined Minister of National Security and Peace, Dr Horace Chang in stating that no third country nationals (TCNs) or prospective foreign deportees from the United States are being housed in St Mary. The JCF, in a release Monday afternoon, June 29, said that “there is currently no arrangement in place to house TCNs in St. Mary. The proposed plan has not been operationalized, and no facility has been identified or finalized for such a purpose.”

(Dr Horace Chang denied the story)
At the weekend, Dr Chang insisted that there were no TCNs in St Mary and there were no plans to house them there.
That came after widespread reports on social media and in St Mary, even giving town names, that 25 deportees from other countries (TCNs) were being housed in the parish. At least one media house carried a report. The North Coast Times did not publish those unverified reports.

The JCF called on Jamaicans to “remain calm and rely on verified information” about TCNs.
The JCF is also urging persons to desist from making threats or engaging in actions that target any individual or property in connection with the matter. “Threats, intimidation, and damage to property are criminal offences and will be dealt with accordingly,” the JCF release said.
