ANNOTTO BAY, St Mary; August 23, 2026
St Mary police are seeking a man who, early Sunday morning, beat a woman and threw a substance in her face before running away from her house.
The St Mary police say they want the man for attempted murder of the 51-year-old woman in the incident at Fort George, Annotto Bay, before dawn, Sunday, August 23, 2026.
According to the police, sometime after midnight, the woman was at home when an argument developed between her and a man known to her. During the dispute, she was reportedly struck in the head with an object before a substance was thrown onto her face.
She was discovered injured at approximately 6:00 a.m. and was y taken to hospital, where she was admitted in serious condition. She reportedly sustained serious head and facial injuries, as well as extensive burns to her face.
The police were alerted, and investigations commenced. Several enquiries are currently being conducted in Forte George and surrounding communities as investigators seek to locate the suspect.
