WIFI UNITED SHINE AT PORTLAND FA AWARDS

PORTLAND CREDIT UNION HAILED FOR 30 YEARS OF SUPPORT

PORT ANTONIO, Portland; June 13, 2026

WiFi United Sports Club stood tall at the thirty-second Portland Football Association Awards Ceremony, on Monday night, June 8, 2026, at Tim Bamboo Hotel.
They topped the Portland Cooperative Credit Union Under-15 competition and won numerous special awards.
Portland Cooperative Credit Union was celebrated for their thirty years of sponsorship, which moved from thirty-five thousand dollars ($35,000) to two million dollars ($2-M).
St. George’s Sports Club topped the Portland Major League and Progressive Football Club the Portland Credit Union Under-20 competition.

Other special awardees are: Progressive FC – most organized club; WiFi United Club of the season; Raquel Russell, PFA Executive of the Year; Daydrean Gordon, President Meritorious Award (silver); Anthony Morrison, President Nation Builders Award (gold); and the PFA Platinum Award – Ricardo McKenzie Portland’s first FIFA Referee (AR – assistant referee). Darane Afflick was adjudged the referee of the year.
President Raymond Grant commended the Portland Cooperative Credit Union for their sponsorship over the years. Grant said he recognized that the Portland Cooperative Credit Union had choices but they decided to stick with the Portland Football Association for 30 years. He encouraged teams and individuals to “go to the credit union doors and invest in the credit union, I am investing in credit unions, and more importantly, the support of football, and in the people of the parish of Portland,” Grant stated.

Marketing Manager for the Portland Cooperative Credit Union Anthony Morrison said: “They have made us feel truly proud for the way they have spent our sponsorship over the years.”
Guest speaker Rev. Michael Aiken challenged the audience to plan and with planning one can be successful. He said football is often called the beautiful game. “I believe its beauty and its strongest claim to fame is as a microcosm or metaphor of life. Ninety minutes on the field mirror our daily human experience, where success requires a delicate balance of individual brilliance and selfless teamwork!”
