IN A SEPARATE CASE — MAN ARRESTED FOR ATTACKING ANOTHER MAN AT HOME
PORT MARIA, St Mary; May 25, 2026

The St. Mary Police have arrested a woman for setting fire to a business place at the very time a man had gone to report a dispute to the police.
They are investigating a suspected case of arson that occurred on Sunday, May 24, 2026, at approximately 2:30 p.m. at the Surrey and Aggregate Compound in Georgia, St. Mary.
Reports are that a farmer who resides on the property left the premises to make a report at the Annotto Bay Police Station. Upon his return, he observed two office buildings engulfed in flames.

The police were summoned and, upon arrival, observed that in addition to the two office buildings, a company pick-up truck and another motor vehicle were on fire.
Police are continuing investigations and have a female suspect in custody.
ARRESTED FOR ATTACKING MAN AT HIS HOME
And, in a separate case, police have charged a man with wounding with intent arising from an incident on Sunday, May 17. He is 26-year-old Nicholas Gordon, a lifeguard of River Road, Gayle, in the parish.
Reports from Gayle Police are that at about 6:00 a.m., a man was at home when he heard a banging on his door. When he opened his door to inquire, he was met by Gordon, who was behaving “boisterously”. It is further reported that during the fracas, Gordon armed himself with a machete, which he used to inflict a chop wound to the man’s head.

The injured man was rushed to the hospital, treated, released, and later made a report to the police.
Gordon was subsequently arrested and charged on Saturday, May 23.
The police report did not say what the dispute was about or what caused Gordon to attack the man.
Gordon is scheduled to appear before the Port Maria Parish Court on Thursday, May 28.
