Lime Tree Gardens beaten in dramatic final over in Discovery Bauxite/St Ann Domestic League 40-over cricket

Bethel Town Strikers are champions of the 2026 Discovery Bauxite/St Ann Domestic League 40-over cricket competition after a dramatic victory over Lime Tree Gardens.
In an exciting final played at Port Rhoades Sports Club in Discovery Bay, Bethel Town successfully defended their 246 for 9 in a match which went down to the wire. At one stage, Lime Tree Gardens seemed likely to take the match when, in hot pursuit, they were at 241 for 7, before a late collapse took them to 245 for 9 in the last over of the day.
Bethel Town’s Darren Small top scored with 65 backed up by Neville Phillips’ 32, while Christopher Reid took 4 for 29 from 5 overs and Derrick Lampart 2 for 47 from 8 overs.

Lime Tree Gardens’ Gavin Perry’s 85 and Aaron Walker’s 55 anchored a strong reply, but Bethel Town’s disciplined approach on the field provided enough support to their top bowlers
Leonardo Harvey (2 for 28) and Neville Phillips (2 for 43) sealed victory.
Harvey won the prize for the competition’s best bowler with 17 wickets for 41 runs, and Rodjohn Henry, Orange Hill CC, best batsman with 450 runs and a top score of 182.
The Discovery Bauxite Trophy, accompanied by a cheque for $150,000, was presented to Bethel Town’s captain Darren Small by Lance Neita on behalf of Discovery Bauxite.
St. Ann Cricket Association President Keith Walford thanked Discovery Bauxite for its continued sponsorship, which he said “has kept cricket alive in St. Ann, with a promise of more to come with the anticipated revival of the company’s Mini League cricket development youth camps in 2027”.
