SUSPECT TURNS SELF IN AFTER 3 WEEKS ON THE RUN
ST ANN’S BAY, St Ann, July 2, 2026—
St Ann police have charged a 51-year-old man with the murder of his ex-lover whose throat was slashed in a fight more than three weeks ago.
Charged with murder is Conross Hylton, otherwise called ‘Rasta’ and ‘Spragga’, a higgler of Mammee Bay, St. Ann.
The deceased is 34-year-old Jestice Howell, otherwise called ‘Nooks’, a vendor, also of Capture Land, Mammee Bay.
Hylton had been on the run since the incident on June 6 before, accompanied by an attorney, he turned himself in to police on Monday, June 29, 2026.

Police reported that at about 5:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 6, Hylton, who allegedly shared a previous relationship with Howell, visited her residence. Howell went outside to meet him, after which an altercation developed between the two. During a tussle, Hylton reportedly used a ratchet to stab her in the neck. He then fled the scene in a Toyota Hiace bus.
The police were alerted, and upon their arrival, Howell was found lying face down in a pool of blood along a dirt track. She was pronounced dead at hospital.
Police recovered a knife believed to be the murder weapon and a hat said to belong to Hylton. They also recovered a canister of pepper spray.
Efforts by police to locate Hylton failed even after he was named as a suspect more than a week ago.
