AABUTHNOTT GALLIMORE HIGH STUDENT HOSPITALIZED AFTER BEING HIT WITH METAL CHAIR

A 13-year-old boy from St Ann is in police custody after hitting his classmate with a chair, resulting in the boy being hospitalized.
The incident happened exactly two weeks after a 17-year-old Ocho Rios High student hit a classmate with a chair, killing him. That 17-year-old has been charged with murder. TEEN CHARGED WITH MURDER FOLLOWING SCHOOLMATE’S DEATH
Reports to the North Coast Times are that the incident took place at Aabuthnott Gallimore High School, Alexandria, about 2:15 p.m. Wednesday, March 18, 2026.
Police confirmed that the boys were in class at the school when they had a dispute. One of the boys reportedly picked up a desk and threw it at the other.

The desk did not harm the intended victim, the 13-year-old boy, but he reached for a metal chair and used it to hit the other boy on the head. The boy was wounded and taken to the Alexandria Community Hospital, where he was treated and transferred to St Ann’s Bay Hospital, some 25 miles away. He was admitted in serious but stable condition.
The 13-year-old was taken into police custody. Details of his identity cannot be disclosed as he is a minor.
