Police have begun moving vendors peddling their wares illegally from the streets and sidewalks in Ocho Rios, St Ann.
Head of the Ocho Rios police DSP Gary McKenzie says the police will not relent as they have found that, aside from the activity being illegal, some vendors are using their stalls and carts to sell drugs.
Police have charged, with possession of and dealing in ganja, one man operating a handcart on the sidewalk on Main Street, Ocho Rios.
Up to Wednesday evening, Jan 20 police removed several vendors from the streets.
DSP McKenzie said vendors will be moved from shop fronts, plazas and the sidewalks throughout the town.
