The incident happened early Monday, in Gibraltar. Several men reportedly arrived in the small community, July 3.  They were in a Noah van and a black Axio motorcar.  Reports are that they had stolen at least one head of cattle and goats and slaughtered the animals. The meat was stuffed into sections of the vehicles.   Area residents, most of them farmers, cornered the men and began beating them. One of them who had taken refuge inside the Gibraltar Primary and Infant School was taken out of the compound and beaten.

Two of the men reportedly escaped.

Later, police found the bodies of two men with multiple chop wounds.

Farmers in the area have been complaining of theft of their farm animals.

Several parts of one of the vehicles attacked were reportedly taken away.

No arrest has been made. The Watt Town police are investigating.
