The surviving brother of a nasty crash which claimed the lives of two of his siblings is said to be out of danger and recuperating well in hospital. The three brothers Simon, Lambert and Martin Davidson, all of Ocho Rios, along with two friends were returning from a night of partying and fun when tragedy struck. The five had gone to a friend’s party in Nine Miles and were returning home early Sunday morning, July 13, when the car which was being driven by Lambert collided with a truck along the Minard main road. Simon reportedly died on the spot while Lambert succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment in hospital. Martin who also sustained serious injuries was transferred from St. Ann’s Bay hospital to Kingston Public Hospital.  The other two men also sustained injuries and were treated at hospital. Martin’s mother, Clara Davidson told the North Coast Times that he was recuperating well in hospital and is expected to make a full recovery.  “One of his brothers went to look for him yesterday (Sunday) and him tell him sey ‘me no like the porridge weh dem a give me and dem nah treat me good’,” she told The Times. “Once him talking like that, that means the brain working.” She told The Times that, among his injuries, Martin sustained a fractured hip, broken leg, injuries to his forehead and cheek bone and that he is to undergo surgery. She explained that the family needs $145,000 to purchase the medication needed for the surgery and that efforts are being made to gather the full amount, ahead of next week Monday. “We need $50,000 more so we trying to come up with the full amount so he can have the surgery because we have to try and do everything to save his life,” she said. Mrs Davidson said the operation is done only on Mondays and that the family is hoping to have it scheduled for next Monday. Meanwhile, Mrs Davidson explained that she was trying to cope with the untimely and tragic death of her other two sons. “It’s really hard but I am trying, I am coping all right now,” she told The Times, via telephone Monday. “Yesterday morning (Sunday) I felt really weak but later in the day I pick up again, I am just trying to cope,” she added. Mrs Davidson said she is making funeral arrangements for the brothers and that August 10 has been set for the funeral in Harry Watch, Manchester. The brothers are originally from Manchester but migrated to St. Ann in search of a better life. Lambert was a popular barber, with his salon at Short Lane in Ocho Rios, while Simon was a mechanic who also sold used cars for a living. The brothers were well known in Ocho Rios.
