ST ANN, ST MARY MEN CHARGED WITH RAPE

CHILD REPEATEDLY SEXUALLY ASSAULTED, WOMAN HIT DOWN AND RAPED

April 10, 2024:

 

A man from St Ann and one from St Mary have been charged with rape in two separate incidents.

They are thirty-three-year-old Jevon Simms of Exchange, Ocho Rios, St. Ann, and 37-year-old gardener, Delford Seymour of Fort George, St Mary. 

Seymour, also called Brimmo and Councillor, was charged with rape after he was accused of repeatedly going to the home of a child, in Annotto Bay, since 2023, and assaulting her. A report was recently made to the police and Seymour was charged.

In the incident in St Ann, police report that two weeks ago, just before midday on Thursday, March 28, a woman was walking along a dirt track, in Exchange when Simms attacked her. She was hit to the ground and sexually assaulted. He ran leaving her behind.

The woman sought assistance from residents and was taken to hospital, where she was examined and treated.

A report was made to the police and Simms was arrested. He was pointed out during an identification parade on Tuesday, April 9, after which he was charged with grievous sexual assault and rape.

His court date is being arranged.
