The St Ann police say they did everything possible under the law after receiving a report from an Ocho Rios woman that she had been threatened with death by her ex-boyfriend. Alisa (Lisa) Garey was killed sometime after she made the report last Wednesday, December 14.
Her family members including her mother say police response was inadequate after the report was made at the Ocho Rios station, Wednesday morning. They argue that the young woman openly asked the police if they were simply to allow her former boyfriend who issued the threat to walk away. The man, Ryan Edwards, 20, now charged with her murder did walk away after police warned him not to carry out the threat.
