PORTLAND POLICE TOP AREA 2 ATHLETICS

ST MARY AND ST ANN BEATEN INTO 2ND AND 3RD RESPECTIVELY

ANNOTTO BAY, St Mary, April 30, 2026

The Portland police emerged winners, beating St Mary and St Ann in the Area Two athletics meeting on Wednesday, April 29, at the St Mary Sports Club, formerly Gray’s Inn.

Portland scored 362 points, St Mary 328, and St Ann 298.

It was the third straight win for Portland in the annual competition.

The top male and female athletes are from St Ann. Nicholas Fraser, 43 points, is the overall champion athlete, and Garnesha Campbell, 34 points, is the top female.

A notable defending champion was  Portland’s  Jermaine Douglas, who defended his 100 metres title from last year, though he had injuries. He credited training for his successful title defence.

St. Mary was adjudged the most disciplined team.

Commissioner of Police Dr Kevin Blake rode to the sports ground on a bike. He took part in handing out several prizes.
