PORTLAND won the Area 2 Police Sports on Wednesday, May 8.

It was the first time Portland Police was winning the Area 2 track and field athletics sports, which is competed for among Portland, St Mary, and St Ann. Portland is the least populated of the three northeastern parishes and has the fewest police stations and personnel of the three.
The meet was held on Wednesday, at Kaiser Sports Club, Discovery Bay St Ann. It had been scheduled for last week but was rained out.

Portland scored 450.5 points to beat St Mary 351 and St Ann 206.5
But as much talked about as the Portland win was, the eye-popping event was the fact that a husband and wife team emerged as Top Female and Top Male champions. They are Auther-Lee Bryan Douglas and Jermaine Douglas, both assigned to Portland.
