HUNDREDS AT THANKSGIVING SERVICE FOR MELONEY HENRY

ST MARY FOOTBALL FRATERNITY HAILS LATE POPULAR ADMINISTRATOR

Scores of mourners paid their last respects to the life of Meloney Henry football administrators at a thanksgiving service in St Mary on Saturday, May 4.

The service was held at the Church of God in Jamaica, Iterboreale, near Annotto Bay on Saturday, May 4.

Ms Henry died April 4, after a brief illness. She was also called “Melo” and “Punchie”. Many mourned her loss as she had become a central figure in the football administration in St Mary and was also a sound, reliable reference for data and information about competitions and teams in St Mary.

Many members of the football fraternity were in attendance including former vice president of the Jamaica Football Federation (JFF) Raymond Anderson. Also in attendance were: James Pearson President of the St Mary Football Association (FA); Elaine Walker Brown, Chairman of the Jamaica Women Premier League (JWPL) & Vice President of JFF, and Marsha Johnson, Public Relations Officer of the St Mary Football Association & Zone Representative in the Annotto Bay Division.

Mr Anderson, Mr Pearson and Mrs Walker Brown all gave tributes in which Ms Henry’s dedication and knowledge were highlighted

The eulogy was delivered by the principal of the Baxters Mountain Primary School Shereen Harris, a cousin of Ms Henry

The sermon was delivered by pastor Due-Wain White.
