Speaking at the awards ceremony Dr. Isaac Brown, the parish manager for Portland health services said, “It is quite appropriate for us to celebrate with them (nurses) with this week being Nurses Week. He highlighted the fact that nurses and other persons in health care need to focus on change and resources. Brown emphasized that sustenance of training and research must be done and continued as to be up to date with vital data. He also said that nurses and other staff should be caring for patients to get change and be resourceful to them. He ended his speech leaving a message saying, “let your patients be the wind beneath your wings.”
