The police say wanted man Devroy Vernon, alias ‘Peboo’ may have been shot and injured during a shoot-out with them.
Cops say in addition to being likely wounded in that shootout in Rio Nuevo, St Mary on Saturday, October 15, the wanted man is also armed and dangerous. In the shootout with police, an unidentified gunman was fatally shot and killed at about 1:20 p.m.
Peboo is wanted in connection with three murders, in St Ann and St Mary, the latest being that of a taxi operator in Boscobel, Friday October 7, 2016. He is also linked to two murders in the Falklands community, near Ocho Rios.
According to DSP Dwight Powell in charge of St Mary police, Vernon is considered to be also armed and dangerous.
