The man charged for the brutal murder of three-year-old Nevalisia Campbell was not taken to court by the police on Wednesday, October 19.
He is 19-year-old Alexus Newland, otherwise called ‘Dal Dal’, of Milford, St Ann.
As a result, presiding Parish Judge Vaughn Facey told the crown prosecutor and Newland’s attorney, Obiko Gordon, that he would not be discussing the matter without the accused man being present.
Newland is being held in police custody outside the parish of St Ann due to safety concerns.
