More than six weeks after a taxi operator was shot at a party in St Ann, after an altercation with his ex, the autopsy has been done.

Thirty-nine-year-old Leo Henry, also called Lion, of Belle Air Meadows, St Ann died after being shot by the security manager at a staff party at Bahia Principe Hotel, Runaway Bay in December.

Henry’s father, Vassell Henry, told the North Coast Times that the post mortem was done nearly two weeks ago. He said his son died from the single bullet fired into his chest. He said the autopsy showed it damaged several organs.

Henry was shot by a senior member of the hotel’s security team after he reportedly attacked and stabbed his ex-lover, near midnight Monday, December 19, 2016 at a staff party on the grounds of the hotel.

The bullet that killed Henry also reportedly exited his body and wounded the teenage son of Henry’s ex-lover who is a manager at the resort.  He has since been released from hospital.

Police have sent the file to the Director of Public Prosecutions for a ruling whether the security officer should be charged. Last week, head of St Ann police superintendent Gary Francis told the North Coast Times that a ruling had not yet been made in the matter.

Taxi operators will be holding a vigil for him on a date to be determined. Funeral service for Leo Henry will be at the Brown’s Town Seventh Day Adventist Church on Sunday, March 5.
