MOB KILLING IN ST ANN–Cops say it had nothing to do with 14-year-old’s death

A man was beaten and stabbed to death by a mob in St Ann on Sunday, October 21.

Police are insisting that the stabbing death of 21-year-old Akeem Harrison, of St Ann’s Bay and Kingston had nothing to do with death of a 14-year-old girl in St Ann’s Bay.

The body of fourteen-year-old Raven Wilson of Top Road, St. Ann’s Bay, and a student of Ocho Rios High was found near her home on Sunday morning, October 21.

Some people who heard the news of Harrison’s death by mob have been falsely linking the two incidents.

Deputy Superintendent of Police in charge of crime in St Ann, Richard Hylton insists that the two events were unconnected. “It has absolutely nothing to do with the death of the girl (Raven Wilson)” he told the North Coast Times Monday.

Reports are that Akeem Harrison otherwise called ‘Boysie’ or ‘Blacks’, 21-year-old of Red Hills Road, Kingston 19 and Marley district, Windsor Heights, St Ann’s Bay, St Ann was stabbed to death by an angry mob in the parish on Sunday, October 21.

Reports are that about 3:20 p.m., Harrison was attacked by the mob.

The Constabulary Communications Unit (CCU) who issued a report said “a motive for the killing has not yet been ascertained.”

However, checks by the North Coast Times indicate that Harrison was accused of sexually assaulting a child. He was pointed out in the area near Mammee Bay and attacked, beaten and stabbed multiple times. He died on the scene near Old Fort Bay.
