A man was murdered as he slept in Port Antonio, Portland, this morning, November 15.
Dead is Romaine Grant, also called “Tiger”, labourer of David Lane Port Antonio, in the parish.
Police reports are that Grant was at his home asleep when a man armed with a handgun forced open the front door to his house. The man entered and fired about seven shots at Grant, hitting him.
Police took Grant to the hospital where he died while undergoing treatment.
This latest death means Portland has had 14 murders so far this year.
Investigations are ongoing.
