POLICE WANT PRAEDIAL LARCENY VEHICLE

Crash Leaves Farmers More Vulnerable

A police unit came to grief recently in St Mary, leaving the Police Praedial Larceny unit without a vehicle to take on its work.

The St Mary Paedial Larceny unit is now immobile due to an early morning accident on the Coloraine main road in the parish over the weekend.

Reports are that the praedial larceny team was on a routine patrol in the Oracabessa area when their vehicle got out of control and overturned.

No one was injured.

The police are concerned about the loss of the unit, especially at this time, with the Christmas season approaching, when farm theft often rises.

The praedial larceny unit oversees 20 communities in the parish.
