Postmortem suggests injuries consistent with a ‘car accident’; no mention of gunshot wounds

There are even more unanswered questions about the body of a man believed to have been murdered and found along the Llandovery Main Road, St Ann, on Wednesday, September 2, 2026
Initial reports were that the bodies of two people had been found off the roadway, near the entrance to the Mines Road. But police later reported that one body, that of a male, was found about 5 a.m. that day. He was identified as Raynor Wilmot of Clarendon. He would have been 41 years old on September 10.
Police initially said that on the arrival of lawmen at the scene, Wilmot’s body was seen lying on its back with what appeared to be a gunshot wound to the left side of the head.
A police report on Tuesday evening, September 15, said a post-mortem was conducted on the body of Mr Wilmot on Monday. September 14.
The police report of the result of the post-mortem was “Cause of death is Blunt Force Trauma. Injuries are broken neck, sternum, fractured rib cage and spinal cord and skull, kidney and spleen rupture and consistent with a motor vehicle accident.”
It said nothing about a gunshot wound.
The suggestion that a motor vehicle accident could have been involved is in line with some speculation about what happened that Wednesday morning. The North Coast Times is unable to provide any additional information at this time.
