JEWEL RESORTS TEAM GIVES ASSISTANCE TO ST CHRISTOPHER’S SCHOOL

Executives of Jewel Resorts went to St Christopher’s School for the deaf , Brown’s Town, St Ann and brought them good cheer to last for a long time, with the presentation of 50 chairs to the school.The presentation was made at the school on Friday morning, March 18. Principal of the school, Donna Harris, who participated in the event and signed for the students, getting their full involvement, said the chairs were well needed and the school was fully appreciative. Lavern Stewart-Barnett, senior teacher, assisted with the signing After the presentation, when the jewel team opened up one of the pack of chairs and students took their seats on the chairs, two students went to the front of the room and said their thanks.

The chairs were purchased from proceeds of the Jewel Resorts Charity Biathlon, the first of its kind in Jamaica. The biathlon is a tag team 1,200 metre swim and 5k run and was held January 31, 2016, in Runaway Bay. All proceeds from the Biathlon went to the chosen charity, St. Christopher’s School for the Deaf, Brown’s Town.

The school has 50 students, most of them in residence, with ten teachers including the principal and a guidance counselor, six teachers’ aides and dormitory staff. The students are between the ages of three and 12.
