FOR FUN IN READING

tv

The St Ann’s Bay Library on Friday, June 5 received several new items for the use of its clients. These items were: a new flat screen LED television, DVD player and a few educational DVDs. The items were donated by Elethia Rickam and her daughter Alexandra Rickam. Ms Rickam stated that she came into the library approximately six years ago and started helping the children learn to read. She said that the use of the television will make learning more fun and interesting, as children these days are turning towards technology for learning purposes. The brief handover ceremony at the library, St Ann’s Bay, included the reading by Ms Rickam of a story, ‘Anansi and the alligator eggs’. On hand to receive the items was Kelonie Noble, acting senior librarian at the St Ann’s Bay parish library. Ms Noble gave thanks to Ms Rickam and her daughter for the items and said that they will be beneficial to the branch, especially for this coming summer to keep the children entertained during their annual summer programme, set for two weeks in July.
