SECOND DEATH BY DROWNING IN PORTLAND IN A WEEK
April 15, Port Antonio:
A young man drowned at the renowned Blue Lagoon, Portland, on Monday afternoon, April 15, 2024. His identity has not been confirmed.
This is the second drowning in a week in the parish. Last Tuesday, April 9, Romario Jones, a second-year student of the College of Agriculture, Science and Education (CASE) drowned at a beach on the campus, near Port Antonio.
Reports to the North Coast Times are that a young man, believed to be in his 20s, and some of his friends went to the Lagoon for a swim. He got into difficulties and drowned.
His body was retrieved from the lagoon.
Police are investigating.
