A man charged for the June 1 double murder in Pimento Walk, near Ocho Rios, St Ann was remanded when he appeared in the St Ann’s Bay resident magistrate court on Tuesday, June 17. Charged with two counts of murder and illegal possession of firearm is 31-year-old Mascino Davis of otherwise called Gussy or Nal of Pimento Walk, St Ann. He is charged for the murders of 31-year-old Horace Hamilton and 39-year-old business man Robert Blake on Sunday, June 1. It is alleged that at least four men came from bushes, at a section of the road where the truck had to slow down, and opened fire. The truck overturned and the men came up to the truck and even on its overturned side and fired into the cab killing the two. Davis was arrested and an illegal firearm was retrieved. He is to return to court on Thursday, June 26.

The Ocho Rios police say they are following strong leads to apprehend the other culprits. There are also reports that one of the men has run away to Negril, Westmoreland. On Wednesday, June 18, the St Ann police, members of overseas church, local pastors and several other persons toured a section of the Pimento Walk community.
