COUPLE ATTACKED Woman killed, hubby shot, house burnt down

A woman was killed and her common law husband hospitalized after gunmen launched a vicious attack on them at their home in Faith’s Pen, St. Ann last week.

Police have identified the dead woman as Linette Graham, 41 years old, a housewife of Faith’s Pen in the parish.

Graham was killed last Thursday, August 14, while she and her common- law husband were at their home in the usually quiet Faith’s Pen community.

Her common-law husband who was also shot multiple times survived the attack and remains in hospital in serious condition.

According to information gathered by the North Coast Times the couple was at their home about 12: 50 p.m. Thursday when they heard a knock on the door.  It’s reported that they both came out of the house when they were attacked by four men who were armed with guns.

CHASED

The woman’s common-law husband reportedly ran away from the men but was chased by one of his attackers. The man who had fled to neighboring premises was caught and the gunman opened fire on him.

Further information reaching the Times is that another set of explosions was heard then smoke was seen coming from the house. The wounded man reportedly managed to return to his burning house where he reportedly found his common law wife lying outside in a pool of blood.

She was shot at least two times.

The wounded man raised and alarm and the police were alerted. The wounded couple was taken to hospital where the woman was pronounced dead and the man hospitalized. Investigators who went to the scene said they are yet to establish a motive for the killing.

However, they have taken one man into custody and he is being interrogated by the police.

Police have also said that they are following some very strong leads and expects to make an early breakthrough.

The couple’s house was reportedly completed destroyed by the fire.

The attack on the two has left a lot of people in the Faiths Pen community in shock.
