Police have in their custody a youth, said to be 15 years old, of Steer Town St Ann, held for an illegal gun.
Reports to the North Coast Times are that a police team was on patrol in the community of Steer Town, near Mammee Bay, on Friday evening, September 21. On seeing members of a police team on patrol, at about 9:05 p.m., the minor ran into a yard and put the weapon into a coal pot.
He was chased and held and the firearm, a .38 Smith and Wesson with four 9 mm rounds seized.
