Taken In To St Mary Police By Residents
A St Mary man accused of stabbing another to death, at a grave digging event, is now in police custody facing a murder charge.
Dead is 42-year-old Damion Watkis of Harmony Hall, Highgate in St Mary.
Police report that on Wednesday, June 21, about 4:30 p.m., Watkis was part of a group at a grave digging evet in Harmony Hall when a dispute developed with another man.
Watkis was stabbed and rushed to hospital, where he died.
Police conducted an operation in the community to apprehend the suspected killer. However, he eluded them.
On Thursday, June 22 residents apprehended the man and handed him over to police. He is in custody facing a murder charge.
