2 MORE DIE ON ST ANN ROADS

Crash Near Midnight At Drax Hall

 

(Both cars were very badly damaged.)

Two more people have been killed in a motor vehicle collision in St Ann. A crash early Saturday morning, June 17, on the Drax Hall Main road, resulted in the second double-traffic fatality in the parish in less than a week.

Dead are: Forty-seven-year-old George Hand, taxi driver of Lilyfield, Bamboo, St. Ann seventeen-year-old Daniel Lacey, student of Pedro District, Kellits in Clarendon. Reports are that at about 12:20 a.m., Hand was driving a Toyota Probox motor vehicle westerly towards St. Ann’s Bay with Lacey as a passenger.

Upon reaching a section of the Drax Hall main road, the Probox collided with a red Porsche motor car that was travelling in the opposite direction.

Lacey was assisted to hospital, where she died whilst undergoing treatment. Hand was cut from the mangled remains by the fire department and pronounced dead at hospital. Three occupants of the Porsche were treated for minor injuries and released.

On Monday morning, at about the same hour, two people from Brown’s Town, St Ann were killed following a two-vehicle collision near Runaway Bay, St Ann. Killed in that crash were 58-year-old Owen Dover, and 38-year-old Rojesha Robinson.
