St Mary Knocked Out Of Senior Cup Cricket

TEAM BEATEN AT QUARTER-FINAL STAGE

 

 

St Mary dropped out of the Senior Cup cricket competition after going down to St Catherine CC at the weekend.

Scores: St Mary 83 all out in their first innings and 181 for nine in their second innings, losing by an innings and 24 runs to St Catherine CC who made 288 in their only innings at bat.

Batting first, St Mary could only manage 83. Tyrone Daley, top scored with 20. Next in line were, Milton Mills 15, and Trevaun Williams 17.

In response, St Catherine were off to a flying start with both openers scoring freely. Kenar Lewis made 50 and his opening partner Orain Williams made 25. Top scorer though was Carlos Brown, with 101, batting at #3.

For St Mary, Darrion Walker took 3 for 106 and Tyrone Daley 3 for 26. Walker finished the competition as St Mary’s top bowler.

In their second turn at the wicket, St Mary made 181 for 9 declared. (The number 11 was injured and could not bat).Top scorers were Trevaun Williams 46, Rojae Brown 31, and Milton Mills 28. Darrion Walker was not out with 24. Williams, a national Under 17 representative, finished with the most runs for the parish.

“We didn’t play to our true talents and hence set a poor first innings total. We didn’t occupy the crease in the first innings. We look forward to the 50-over competition.”
