TITCHFIELD, PT ANTONIO, HAPPY GROVE, ST MARY HIGH & ST MARY TECHNICAL, FERNCOURT, STEER TOWN ALL SCORED
Of the schools in the North East parishes (covered by the North Coast Times), St Mary High emerged top in both the Girls Section and Boys Section in the ISSA/Grace Kennedy Boys and Girls championship that ended last week. Eighty-eight girls teams and 91 boys teams from across the island entered.
Here is a points analysis of the schools from St Ann, St Mary and Portland that were among the 39 institutions among the Boys and 39 among the Girls that got one point or more in the 88 events.
St Mary High placed 12th amongst the girls with 34.5 points. They tied with Vere, once a powerhouse at Girls Champs.
Ferncourt High, the lone St Ann school to score among the Girls, came in at 23rd with eight points.
Two Portland schools were on the board among the Girls — Port Antonio High who placed 24th with seven points and Happy Grove who placed 37th with two points. In all, among the Girls, 39 schools scored one point or more with Hydel being the winner.
ST MARY HIGH TOPS BOYS TOO
Among the Boys, St Mary High again topped the list from the North East parishes, placing 15th overall with 17 points. They were followed by Titchfield High placing 18th with 11 points. Three schools from Portland and St Ann placed 25th they were Happy Grove High and Port Antonio High, of Portland; and Steer Town Academy, of St Ann. All three scored six points each. Steer Town was the only St Ann school registering points among the Boys. St Mary Technical placed 36th with two points.
